Dr. Hartl and an ad hoc group of his students successfully converted the legacy dark room and optics laboratory in the Aerospace Engineering department into the new Immersive Mechanics Visualization Lab (MAESTRO VR Annex).
In less than two hours, the entire lab was emptied of its previous contents and converted into a dedicated space for virtual reality and immersive data visualization research. This coincided with the choice of Dr. Thomas Pollock to begin focusing primarily on research and forgo his need for optics research space.
Michayal Mathew (project student lead) then worked to move and re-install the HTC Vive system in the new space. The help of Dr. Pollock and the hard work of the dedicated students is much appreciated.
