Research website for the Hartl research team at Texas A&M

Texas A&M University College of Engineering

Hartl granted courtesy appointment in Department of Material Science and Engineering

Posted on March 26, 2019 by Darren J. Hartl

After years of researching the mechanics of various multifunctional materials systems, with an emphasis on shape memory alloys (SMAs), Dr. Darren Hartl was recently named as an Affiliate Faculty Member of the Department of Material Science and Engineering (MSEN) at Texas A&M University.

While already an active collaborator with other full-time faculty members from that department, this new title affords Dr. Hartl the privilege of advising MSEN students toward their graduate degrees. The first of these will be Jacob Mingear, as he pursues his Ph.D. in Material Science after already obtaining a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering.
