Edwin A. Peraza Hernandez is a postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Aerospace Engineering working under the supervision of Drs. Dimitris Lagoudas and Darren Hartl. He has co-authored 11 peer-reviewed journal publications and 17 conference proceedings papers to date. He earned a Ph.D. degree in Aerospace Engineering from Texas A&M University in December 2016. The title of his dissertation was “Kinematics, structural mechanics, and design of origami structures with smooth folds.” Edwin earned a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Texas A&M University in December 2012 with the distinctions of Summa Cum Laude and University Undergraduate Research Scholar. His research interests are in the areas of active material-based morphing structures and origami. His hometown is San Salvador, El Salvador.
