B.S. in Aerospace Engineering (2019) – Texas A&M University
Makiah Eustice is a senior undergraduate student. She joined the MĀ²AESTRO team to explore her interest in material science and gain hands-on research experience. She is active in the Student Advisory Board for the Aerospace Engineering Department and serves as president of SEDS (Students for the Exploration and Development of Space) Texas A&M Chapter. In 2017, she was selected for the first class of Brooke Owens Fellows, an international cohort for rising female aerospace industry leaders. Makiah completed 4 years in the Corps of Cadets and will commission as a 2nd. Lt. in the US Air Force. She is passionate about space exploration, flying, and STEM outreach.
Makiah’s work in MĀ²AESTRO focuses on the building and experimenting of the Slat Cove Filler wind tunnel section. Her role has included shape-setting of shape memory alloys, material characterization, bonding and installation of the wing section.
